“Synonyms”, the new acquisition from Films4You, will take the honor of being the ending session film at the 16th edition of the IndieLisboa International Film Festival.

Golden Bear this year, the controversial movie directed by Nadav Lapid, talks about a young Israeli man that absconds to Paris to flee his nationality, aided by his trusty Franco-Israeli dictionary, in order to lose his own identity that make him still connected to his despised homeland and native language.

IndieLisboa 2019 occurs between 2 and 12 May, in “Ideal” and “São Jorge” cinemas, at “Cinemateca Portuguesa” and “Culturgest”. The ending session will take place at 12th May in São Jorge cinema, near Avenida da Liberdade.

THE TROUBLE WITH YOU is a french comedy about a widow who discovers that her husband sent an innocent man to jail to cover-up his own crimes. A police comedy directed by Pierre Salvadori, acoording to an argumento by himself and also Benoît Graffin and Benjamin Charbit. Actors Adèle Haenel, Pio Marmaï, Audrey Tautou, Vincent Elbaz and Damien Bonnard give life to the characters.

On the 23rd of January the Cesar Awards nominations were release, making THE TROUBLE WITH YOU the movie with most nominations: Best Movie, Best Director (Pierre Salvadori), Best Actress (Adèle Haenel), Best Actor (Pio Marmai), Best Supporting Actress (Audrey Tautou), Best Supporting Actor (Damien Devinck), Best Editing (Isabelle Devinck), Best Original Song (Camille Bazbaz) and Best Original Screenplay (Pierre Salvadori, Benoît Graffin, Benjamin Charbit). 

The César awards are an annual awards ceremony of French cinema attributed to professionals of the “seventh art” in various categories in order to reward the best French productions. This year, THE TROUBLE WITH YOU leads the nominations. See the results on 22nd of February.

LETO is one of the recent acquisitions of Films4You and will debut in theaters in Portugal this year.

The talented filmmaker (and director of the Gogol Center) Russian Kirill Serebrennikov plunged in a beautiful story of tenderness and musical euphoria, told in black and white. to tell in black and white. The film takes place in Leningrad in the summer of the early 1980s. The music of Lou Reed, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground spread all over the place, and the rock starts boiling at the Leningrad Rock Club, opening the doors to Perestroika. LETO (Summer) represents the struggle against the oppression of the non-conformist Kirill Serebrennikov, the a Russian filmmaker who remains under house arrest.

In France, the film reached 125,000 admissions after a month of showing. LETO won the Best Composer Award (Roman Bilyk and German Osipov) at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 and is now heading for the 2019 Berlin Film Festival.

The Guilty is a Danish thriller by Gustav Möller about an operator and former police officer who answers an emergency call from a woman who was kidnapped and quickly joins a race against time to save her.

It was screened in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and selected as the Danish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards (Oscars).

In addition to its presence at the Sundance Film Festival, The Guilty featured more than 20 awards in the film festival circuit, including the Critics Choice Award at the Zurich Film Festival 2018 and the Audience Award at Rotterdam International Film Festival, the Torino Film Festival and the Stony Brook Film Festival.

The Guilty will premiere in early 2019 in Portugal.

Films4You has acquired the rights to the film Woman At War (Kona fer í stríð), a Benedikt Erlingsson film co-produced by Iceland, France and Ukraine. The film tells the story of Halla, a 50-year-old environmentalist who decides to tackle the aluminum industry for environmental protection and global warming.

This film was awarded the Lux 2018 Prize on the 7th of November by the European Parliament and is nominated for the Critics Week Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. It was also selected as the Icelandic entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards (Oscars).

Woman At War will premiere in 2019 in Portugal.

THE TROUBLE WITH YOU is a police comedy authored by Pierre Salvatori, according to his own argument, by Benoît Graffin and Benjamin Charbit.

After being well received by movie critics, the film grossed, in its premiere week 328,195 admissions on 360 screens, expanding to 430 screens inthe second week. On 16 November it had more than 500,000 admissions.

This film features Adèle Haenel, Pio Marmaï, Audrey Tautou, Vincent Elbaz and Damien Bonnard and will debut in Portugal soon.

Eric Khoo’s Ramen Shop is a movie about a young chef who decides to embark on a culinary journey in Singapore in an attempt to discover his past.

In France the film has already collected 83,994 admissions on 139 screens from its debut on the 3rd of October. In Brazil, the results of Ramen Shop were also considered a success with 14500 admissions and € 218910 in Box Office.

In addition to France and Brazil, Ramen Shop has already premiered in Hungary, Colombia, Belgium, Sweden and Holland; followed by Switzerland and Canada. In 2019 the film will debut in Spain and Poland.
